Who We Are

Diocesan Development Services- North Karamoja (DDS-NK) is a development arm of the Church of Uganda, North Karamoja Diocese mandated to carry out social services and implement development interventions using an integrated development approach. 

Diocesan Development Services (DDS-NK) has three decentralized structures called Zonal Integrated Development Programmes located in all the districts of North Karamoja region, which are coordinated by the Secretariat main office located in Kotido Municipality. The zonal programmes are:

  1. Labwor Zonal Integrated Development Programme (LAZIDEP) operates in the Abim district
  2. Jie Zonal Integrated Development Programme (JIZIDEP) operates in Kotido district and
  3. Dodoth Zonal Integrated Development Programme (DOZIDEP) operates in Kaabong district.

Programme Goal

To contribute to improvement in social - economic wellbeing among Vulnerable individuals and households in Uganda.

Mission

To support communities and church workers in North Karamoja to improve their livelihoods through an integrated and sustainable Development approach.

Mandate

As a faith based organisation, DDS-NK is mandated by Jesus Christ to carry out holy ministry which he himself initiated and passed on to the Church. Our inspiration comes from Jesus’ ministry as stated in the Bible (Luke 4:18, John 10:10b)
