Ijala Simon Peter

Ijala Simon Peter is the Executive Director for the Diocesan Development Services – North Karamoja and leads the organization’s efforts to champion socio-economic development in North Karamoja. Simon provides leadership and management to DDS-NK. Simon possess strong overall knowledge and personal skills. He is a mature and well-articulated leader providing clear vision for DDS-NK as well as supporting the Board of Directors.

Simon brings decade of Programme Management, Coordination and field experiences from diverse nonprofit organizations.  Previously, Simon served as Programme Manager of Diocesan Development Services –North Karamoja in which he provided strategic leadership, staff supervision, took a lead in resource mobilization, networking and monitoring projects before his promotion as the Executive Director. He also served as Senior Project Officer Civic Education and Project Coordinator Civic Education for ZOA Uganda; Diocesan Development Coordinator for Karamoja Diocese; Zonal Team Leader for Karamoja Dioceses Development Services and Public health promotion officer for Oxfam Uganda.

Ijala holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Health Science from Makerere University Kampala
